本課程旨在訓練學生經由口說、對答等方式增進會話能力，配合教材內容適時介紹日本的生活禮儀及文化習俗藉以豐富會話內容。授課內容為自我介紹、詢問場所、購物、日常生活行為、邀請、敘述人（動物、東西）的位置、個人喜好（擅長、感覺、看法）等表達方式。
This course aims to arouse students’ learning interests and improve their oral expression abilities through oral practices, Q&As, and role-plays. The emphasis of the course is laid on introducing Japanese etiquette and customs to extend students’ background knowledge of Japan. The contents will include self-introduction, asking for directions and daily activities like shopping, invitations, describing positions (of animals and objects), and expressing one’s likes (specialty, feelings and opinions.)
修習本課程後學生得以具有下列能力：
1. 習得日語之常用句型並能運用於日常生活對話之能力。
2. 增進學生在不同的場合及情境下能夠運用所學之日語與他人做簡單交談之能力。
3. 增進對日本人的生活習慣與文化之認識與瞭解。
Students should be able to achieve the following objectives by the end of the course:
1. acquire common Japanese sentence structures and be capable of applying them in everyday conservation
2. be capable of communicating and expressing their ideas based on different topics accurately in Japanese in different occasions and situations
3. understand Japanese lifestyle and culture
